The only thing is that I tried a three column template on my travel blog and it did not load properly for people using IE. There is nothing wrong with this blog template except it is brown. You could get some help to increase the amount of space between posts and change the background to a lighter color so you could have black text. All the best. I like the third one, as do most people. The problem with on-line learning is that spontaneous discussions can't arise. I recently finished my masters and took two on-line classes as a part of it. While it was interesting, there wasn't the bonding of classmates or the intimacy of a classroom setting. While concerts could all be done from virtual stadiums, you lose the singer/audience connection. There is something to be said for human interaction. I also like the white page because I do have a hard time to see on the dark page (aging eyes ya know!). But you have to be happy with what you choose as well. I will read either way.
